It would appear that Harry’s life is more valuable than my son or the other nearly 150 service personnel who’ve given their lives.

The words of Briton Reg Keys, on hearing that Britain’s Prince Harry — the one who wore a Nazi uniform to a costume party — would not be serving in Iraq after all. Keys’ son Thomas was killed in 2003 in Basra, where Harry would have been deployed with his regiment.

Earlier, Harry said he would quit the Army if he could not go to Iraq as planned. After the decision to keep him home, a spokesman was asked if the royal would indeed be quitting as a result. The answer? “Absolutely not.”
