Paul Simon is putting his mouth where his money is — and playfully tinkering with his own lyrics in the process. He’s touring Iowa with CT Senator Chris Dodd, campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination. Simon and Dodd go back 20 years, introduced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels. Simon, his wife Edie Brickell and Michaels are all Dodd campaign donors.
In Sioux City yesterday, Simon altered the baseball aspect of Mrs. Robinson for Dodd and — if you don’t know all the words — he also stopped and diplomatically skipped the line, “Every way you look at it you lose.” Paul Simon’s one of my favorites and this is fun stuff, uploaded by the Dodd campaign.
