on Sep 24th, 2007Bush predicts Hillary
President Bush thinks Hillary Clinton will be the Democrats’ nominee next year. In an interview for a book, he broke his self-imposed rule not to discuss presidential politics.
He also thinks the Republicans will win the election after “a tough race”, but has not publicly singled out a candidate for his own party. He has expressed surprise that Rudy Guiliani is the front-runner.
The full story is here.
By the way, Hillary’s 30-second commercials in New Hampshire now focus totally on her health care initiative.

The NYT had a great blog on the blitz this weekend, and its focus on health care.
Pure Hilary, pure timing.
She and Bill are consumate politicians. That is not necessarily bad, if it benefits the Republic.
The President said about the ‘08 race:
“I believe our candidate can beat her but it’s going to be a tough race.”
In his dreams.
Bush has been wrong so often this is probably good news for Hillary!
Hee!
@bbmaven - Yes, they are both consummate politicians. Perfect description. Have you read Bernstein’s book yet?
@kip - The Decider becomes the Predicter?
(And it’s good to see a blog devoted to peace. I hope it succeeds beyond your wildest dreams.)
I don’t know if you read at http://www.alternet.org but there are several good discussions going about this healthcare idea. Is it possible that we are actually going to get something done about this finally?
I do read alternet occassionally. To be honest, I’m not optimistic about a solution to this problem, no matter who’s elected. It’s a national scandal, IMO.
