on Sep 30th, 2007Pie making week is coming
With local apples ripening and our pie-intensive holidays approaching, it seems like a good time to devote five days of posts to making pies, with an emphasis on crusts. Starting October 8 I’ll be providing tips, tricks and recipes I hope will help you to become a better pie maker or to make your first one without fear.
Lattice crust? We’ll do it. A perfectly round crust? I’ll show you how. Flaky crust? No problem. Confused about which flour(s) to use? You won’t be.
So stop back often or subscribe in a reader or sign up for email updates. Email, by the way, goes out only when there is something new. The timing is beyond my control; usually they’re sent between 11 AM and 1PM Eastern time.
If you have questions or specific problems, leave them here in the comments section or email me from the page above and I’ll try my best to help.

I am a fan of pies and pie recipes so I look forward to your posts next week.
Morning, jo. You might enjoy the recipes but I have a feeling you can make crusts in your sleep….
And how to make the crumble topping for apple pie too? I will be tuned in all week cause my pies need help! Can’t wait.
You mean a simple topping for apple crumb pie? Sure thing. Easy peasy.
Good to see you!
