Not far from Dartmouth College is a wonderful orchard on a road with the unfortunate name of Poverty Lane. I was in the area this week and decided to stop for some heirloom apples and the view. New England is renowned for its autumn foliage but this year the color is only meh and after several downpours, many of the most colorful leaves are on the ground. Even so, you might enjoy this brief visit.

Wow! What beautiful fall foilage!
I loved your apple and pumpkin pictures. And the one with the barn. That barn is so beautiful.
I hope this means more apple recipes too. I’ve got a lot of apples.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it, even though the foliage is really nothing this year. I think the barn’s gorgeous, too! And I’m such a fan of heirlooms.
I don’t want to go on apple overload — have you made applesauce? If you have a pressure cooker it’s lightening-fast.
