Cartoon of the week – 1/20

January 20, 2008

in cartoon of the week, food

Uncle Sam needs a thesaurus. A few years ago, when pasteurized ground beef — safe even for those of us who like it medium rare — hit the supermarkets, almost nobody bought it because of its unfortunate name: irradiated. Consumers’ common sense went out the window amidst visions of burgers glowing in the dark.

Now the governement told us this week that cloned food is safe to eat. Bob Englehart of the Hartford Courant knows we’re skeptical.
