Please take this widget with you; you can even email it. After Super Tuesday we know two things: John McCain is the undisputed frontrunner for the GOP, in a comeback that was unthinkable last summer when everyone, including me, wrote him off. And we know the Democrats have a true contest, the likes of which I can’t recall.
This slick, dynamic widget not only shows the candidates’ delegate counts, it will also show them state-by-state after clicking on it. You can embed it in places such as Facebook or simply keep the email; just click Grab it and follow the prompts. In email, clicking on it (or the little x-box if ‘display images’ is turned off) is required to see the latest version.
By the way, in this blog’s Super Tuesday poll, Obama beat Clinton 44% to 38%. The Republicans each got 6%.

I don’t know where you find this stuff but thanks. Personally, I would like nothing better than to see a McCain/Huckabee ticket so that the country could have a referendum on just how we really feel about war and Christianity.
make that neocon Christianity in politics.
Thank you, thank you, ellaella. I was so confused about how each party chose their delegates, and what a state win vs. a congressional disctrict win meant. This graphic and accompanying explanation is succinct.
I was a Super Tuesday voter, and was proud and interested to see how many people had their little “I Voted” sticker on. It’s going to be a rocky (exciting) ride.
rhbee – I don’t sleep much, so they find me!
Glad you find it useful.
MusEditions – You’re welcome! And it’s confusing because the party rules are different. Republicans award delegates on a winner-takes-all basis while Democrats award them up by district.
Who paid for those “I Voted” stickers, do you know? Was it the parties or the taxpayers..or neither?
The first, oval, sticker is the one we had. Apparently the individual state election offices, or registrar of voters buy these. http://www.electionstickers.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=9&Itemid=29 They don’t seem very expensive, and, may encourage other people to vote?
Thank you for digging that out! They are dirt cheap. There’s no way a municipality in thrify, tax-free New Hampshire would buy any, but I might just donate some to my town for November. Encouragement, reminder, badge of honor…great idea. Thanks again!
It’s funny—until your inquiry I just sort of assumed the entire nation had the stickers. (I guess I thought the White House bought them, lol) Arizona has been using them for around 10 years. Voters get them at every election, small to large. When we put our completed ballot in the box, we’re handed the sticker. I like that they are not about who or what we’ve voted for, but just a statement of the fact that we’ve exercised the privilege. Sometimes children are given a sticker if they come in with their parents, and you can imagine what a conversation starter that is!
Thanks much for this widget. Now I need figure out where to put it on me blog… ’cause it’s kinda wide for the sidebar.
Best!
MusEditions – And now some will read your comment and think: ballot boxes? Places still use those?
I love our diversity!
Juan – You’re welcome! Yes, it’s way too wide for my sidebar. You could put it in a post and put a link to that in the sidebar, maybe? But you’re such a CSS whiz I’m sure you can create a spot for it anywhere you choose!
