My friend and fellow blogger, sulz, has awarded me a martini, a fun little blogger award I’m delighted to accept. What she didn’t know is this is my first martini ever. Seriously. I’ve never had one, not even a taste. So my cyber ‘tini is especially delicious. Thanks, sulz! I’ll share the fun and award a few myself.

i haven’t had a martini before either! but i had a margarita, that has to count for something in my limited liquor consumption book. my first martini shall be the chocolate kind, i’ll make sure of that!

Hi, sulz! Let me know how the chocolate ‘tini works out for you! When I wasn’t much older than you are I went out after work with some friends, mostly guys, and we were at a Mexican restaurant that served margaritas by the pitcher. I don’t know how many we (mostly the guys) had over the course of the night but I remember how sick I was the next day. I was so surprised! I wasn’t snockered and it didn’t taste like hard liquor but I paid for it in spades.

I’ve never had another margarita since.

I had two sips of a martini once, and I didn’t like it at all! But I know some are devoted to them.
I understand they are considered a sophisticated drink, so, on that level you certainly deserve the award. Congrats!

Thanks! Y’know when I was a kid I always loved those cartoons in the New Yorker with people on a patio or at a cocktail party, martini in hand. I had no idea I’d grow up to hate the taste of hard liquor unless it’s masked in a girly drink. Oh well….

actually i don’t like alcohol at all. i don’t like red wine! i haven’t acquired the taste of it, i guess. but the margarita, after a while it tasted quite good! i don’t drink until i get drunk though, as i’m phobic to throwing up.

i still intend to try as many alcoholic drinks at least once.
