It’s been a long time since we’ve had a presidential ticket with a catchy nickname. In 1976, we in Washington called the Jimmy Carter and Walter “Fritz” Mondale ticket “Grits and Fritz” while Gerald Ford and Bob Dole were “Dull and Dole.”
Now that John McCain has chosen a running mate whose short CV includes coming in second in a beauty pageant, Pat Bagley of the Salt Lake Tribune has given the ticket an equally-memorable name.
