That is the single most stupid thing ever said in the history of television.
Democratic strategist and analyst James Carville on the assertion by Steve Doocy of Murdoch’s Fox News that GOP running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, does indeed have foreign policy experience because Alaska is next to Russia.
Palin’s background in a nutshell: she’s been governor about 18 months and before that was a small-town (population under 10,000) mayor. She was runner-up in a beauty pageant and belonged to her local Parent-Teachers’ Association.
She wants schools to teach creationism and is so anti-choice she opposes abortion even in the case of rape. McCain is clearly pandering to the religious right and his choice has already won over no less a wingnut than Glen Beck, whose many virulently bigoted comments are well-documented.
Palin’s own mother-in-law is a tougher sell. According to today’s New York Daily News, she’s not sure how she’ll vote in November.
