Cartoon of the week – 9/14

September 14, 2008

in Barack Obama, cartoon of the week

One of the best articles I read this past week was What Small-town America is Saying About Obama. It’s a nuanced piece, drawing the distinction between racism and prejudice. Unfortunately, there’s plenty of both in America.

Instead of a cartoon this week, I offer a photo I saw online that reminded me of the article and of the difference between ignorance and stupidity. We’ve got ‘em all together in this photo in a surprising way that’s actually kind of funny. Ignorance might indeed be bliss, but as the comedian Ron White likes to say, you can’t fix stupid.

True, You can’t fix stoopid

By the way, the link to the article seems to be broken. I believe this is the correct one:

BTW, it was an excellent article, indeed.

Thanks for catching that and digging out a link without the Salon pass, which appeared out of nowhere today. I changed the link to the printer-friendly version so b/w your good link and mine, I should be covered now!

Glad you liked the article. It stayed with me.
