I’m a big fan of Ron Howard, as a filmmaker, an actor and an all-around good guy who’s still married to his high school sweetie without a breath of scandal after all these years. He’s put together this short film and while it’s surprising that he’s speaking out in favor of a presidential candidate for the first time, the real surprise comes during the film.
There are two surprises, really, and what you can read on the still doesn’t give away everything. So if you liked Ron Howard as Opie or as Richie Cunnigham or both, prepare to be pleasantly surprised.

That’s exactly what I thought! I’m glad you agree. I don’t mind admitting I’ve seen every episode of the Andy Griffith Show umpteen times.
Interesting bit of politics and teevee – in the 1st season, Elinor Donahue decides to become the first woman to run for the Mayberry City Council after Andy’s blah blah about it’s not a job for a woman. Very early feminism from Hollywood.
That’s an AWESOME video!
Hilarious!
That line broke me up too. Glad you liked it!
Wow! I did not see that coming! Even ANDY??!!?? I watched both shows, and all three gentlemen are in a place in life where they would not have to trade on former TV characters to make a point…but it surely does.
Thanks for posting this, w00t.

You’re so right and I actually got gooseflesh for a moment when I realized who it was. It’s probably the last time we’ll ever see him in that role.
And Winkler…you have to love him. Ron Howard gets things done, that’s for sure.
Good to see you!
I loved this too. It seems many people are afraid for our country….and its future.
That they are, Violet, and the rabid right is terrified at the prospect of an Obama victory. I wish they would inform themselves before spewing code words and, worse, lies and hate. But I suppose that might rattle their cozy little cocoons.
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
