Cartoon of the week – 3/15

March 15, 2009

in cartoon of the week

Once in a blue moon I see an editorial cartoon I know I’ll remember for some time. Often it’s because the artist has taken a risk, depicting a blunt point of view or using a word in an unexpected and not-always-comfortable way that adds another layer and packs a punch. Of the many Bernie Madoff cartoons since his guilty plea on Thursday, this one stood out.

Is it ever. When I saw the other character, who is rarely shown in cartoons, I was a bit oooh. Then when I saw the word, I was Whoa. (Articulate, aren’t I? Sheesh.)
