Thank you, and I'll look at them soon just 'cause I'm curious now! The heck of it is, when I was cooking out of the freezer and used the remainder of my phyllo and saw the pistachios I decided I have to try making baklava very soon. I'm sure my 'stacios are fine but this is hardly the time to to ask people to run out for some to make baklava. My timing is awful! :D I can’t remember the last time I had a granola bar — 15 years maybe — so that “clean” declaration is new to me. I love those nuts although I don't buy them often. As you pointed out, they're widely available without shells now, and it's just too easy to eat the whole bag! I've noticed labels on a few packaged things I buy, like granola bars, declaring their peanuts are "clean", "uncontaminated" or "checked". Hmmm. Hope so.
