With only a week and a half till Memorial Day weekend and millions of cookouts, it’s a good time to round up some grilling ideas and recipes from past years
For beef lovers grilling often means steak. Arm yourself with hints and tips from the experts at Lobel’s for making the perfect steak then consider making a delicious steak sauce that’s better for us than the store-bought stuff.
Burgers don’t have to mean beef and turkey burgers don’t have to be bland or dry. Zesty turkey burgers are a snap to make. Great veggie burgers take more time but I think they’re worth it. Serve either burger on homemade buns for an extra treat.
One of my favorite grilling recipes for poultry is Fire Eaters’ Chicken. I’ve made it by every possible grilling method and it’s always a standout but is especially wonderful on a charcoal grill. To go in a totally different direction in terms of flavor, try Grilled Asian Chicken. Since posting it in 2007, grilled indoors, I have made it outdoors and it was indeed as amazing as I thought it would be.
And you don’t need a recipe for a favorite dessert from the grill. When the coals are dying, when the gas grill’s no longer scorching hot, slice a few bananas lengthwise and grill them. Serve them on vanilla ice cream and top with chocolate sauce you’ve added a bit of cinnamon to. Bliss!
