Top Chef Las Vegas, Season 6 for the show, begins tonight on Bravo at 9 PM EDT. Seventeen contestants will compete this time, two of whom are brothers. Bravo’s promoting that gimmick angle as if it will be the most riveting sibling rivalry since Cain and Abel. Forgive our skepticism.
It’ll be the usual gang at the Judges’ Table and that’s one problem with Top Chef, which was appointment TV in its first season: it’s become utterly predictable. It’s like the menu at any diner in New York in that you know it’ll offer breakfast 24 hours a day but that even the biggest omelet, while stopping the growling in your stomach, won’t be very satisfying. Eventually, you take a pass.
