My apologies for the tardy response, but I'm just swamped by the move. I hadn't seen that cardinal's comment. I do wish clergy would stay out of politics. All of them. I thought the Pope's response was quite nice, actually. I read one comment by a cardinal which said, if I recall: "Mr. Kennedy is nothing to us.", based, one surmises, on the Senator's policies on some social issues.
