All categories and posts on this site are top-level, making it easy and quick to find information via several methods.

Tags/Categories: Simplest and fastest is to click on a category in the tag cloud on the right side of the page. This will show you every post here in that category. And every post has at least one category and clicking there will bring you more of the same.

Search: It works very well. Enter a word or phrase in the search box at the top right and it will show you any matching post(s). Often it will return more than one post because I link to related information. If you enter “potato salad” you’ll also get related posts which, in this case, are recipes I’ve created or reworked to remove mayonnaise.

The search will not return matches on the Useful Links page. So if you enter, say, Zabar’s you’ll see posts that mention it, but not its link in the list on the Links page.

Archives: The Archives page will show you information by category and by month.

Browsing recipes:  Please use the category cloud. Because of abuse and theft, the Recipes page is no longer viewable. While there is a lot of information on this site, recipes are the backbone and the Recipes page enables you to browse their titles in three groups: cooking, baking and misc. The latter is a catch-all for things such as salad dressings, dips, gelati or anything else that doesn’t seem to fit naturally into cooking or baking. My brisket and brown bread recipes, the first two in their groups, are printed there in their entirety. Here you will also find a link to The Metric Kitchen, a more comprehensive conversion site than the one in the sidebar.

Chronological: You can also kill a lot of time by beginning with the first post and reading from there. Some of the information from that post made its way to the About page.

Email: Has its own page with a form to contact me safely and securely  — and I hope you will. In the “Name” box, your first name will suffice.
